What is a Podcast?

A podcast is a way to subscribe to and download the programs produced by KEOM to your computer and then, if you wish, to your portable MP3 player. In order to subscribe to one of our podcasts, there are a few items you will need. You will need a recent computer that has the ability to play MP3 audio files, and a high-speed internet connection. You will also need to load a podcast subscription software onto your computer. This software automatically checks your podcast subscriptions to see if new downloads are available, and then downloads them to your computer. There are a number of programs available, and an Internet search should provide you with multiple options.

Once you have the podcasting software installed on your computer, you are ready to subscribe to our podcasts. Right click on the podcast icon, and select one of the following: “Copy”, “Copy Shortcut”, or “Copy Link”. Then go into your podcast software and find the menu item that says “Subscribe to Podcast” and paste the copied link into the appropriate place. Each time we add a new episode of the program(s) you subscribe to, it will be downloaded to your podcasting software.

Of course, if your are not interested in subscribing to our podcast, you also have the option of manually downloading the program files on our site directly to your computer. Simply right-click on the play button icon and select “Save Target As…” or "Save Link As..." to save the file on your computer manually.
