It is Playoff Time!
The MISD will send two girls district championship teams into the playoffs. The Horn girls move into post season as co-district champions with a record of 28-4. The Lady Wranglers of West Mesquite finished the regular season with a record of 30-5. This is the fourth year in a row for the girls of WM to claim the district title! Other teams from the MISD will also qualify for the playoffs. We will post that info when it becomes finalized.
Horn and West Mesquite Girls State Ranked
The Lady Jags have started the year with a 12-1 record! Horn is ranked 22nd in the State 5A basketball poll. The West Mesquite girls are 12-2 this year and are ranked as the #3 girls 4A basketball team in Texas! Both teams are off to great starts!
Wranglers and Jaguars Head into the Football Playoffs!
West Mesquite finished 7-3 on the season and will play their Bi - District football game against Corsicana Friday night. The kickoff is scheduled for 7:30. The game will be played at DeSoto HS's field.
The Horn Jags won on week ten of the season 29-24 over cross town rival Mesquite High in a thriller that went down to the last play of the ball game. Horn plays Friday night vs. Belton High in Mansfield, Texas
Lady Stallions Win District Title!
The North Mesquite volleyball team beat DeSoto Tuesday night. With that win the NM girls won the District 11-5A Championship! DeSoto only had one loss in district play, but the Stallions beat them in three straight games to claim the title. The MISD has three teams headed into the playoffs early next week. North Mesquuite, Horn and Poteet have all qualified for post season play!
