Six Mesquite ISD Teams Qualify for the Basketball Playoffs!
Both the boys and the girls basketball teams from Mesquite, Horn and West Mesquite qualified for this years playoffs. The Horn Lady Jags play early this week in the third round (Regional Quarter Finals) of the girls basketball playoffs. Thye meet Plano West Tueday night. With a win Horn qualifies for the Regional Tournament.
The three boys teams start Bi Dist play (first round of the playoffs) early this week.

Former MISD Student Now A National Champion
Kat Bell, a former NMHS Stallion pkayeris now playing at the University of Texas. Kat recenltly became a National Champion as she and her Longhorn teammates beat Oregon to claim the 2012 NCAA Women's National Championship in volleyball. Congratulations to Kat!
Pirates Win! Head to Regional Finals!
Poteet beat Wylie East 52-49 on Friday,Nov 30th to pick up their 11th win of the season. Pirate QBTanner Ramsey passed for over 200 yards and 4 touchdowns and he ran for over 100 yards and 2 touchdowns. For his efforts he was named the DMN's Player of the Week! Poteet plays the Lancaster Tigers this Friday night in the Regional Finals in a game you can hear right here on KEOM!
Three MISD Teams - HUGE Crowds - Playoff Football Action
Poteet,Mesquite and Horn played in the second round of the football playoffs in front of big crowds.
The Pirates beat Lincoln with a big Poteet crowd on hand and they will move on to the Regiional Semi Finals!
Mesquite's perfect season came to a close Friday night. Playing in front of 14,000 at Clark Stadium in Plano, the Skeeters lost one to the Allen Eagles. The Skeeters lead late in the second quarter, but the Eagles came from behind for the win. MHS ended the year with 11 wins and 1 loss.
The oOrn Jags had their side of the stadium packed on Saturday afternoon when they played the Skyline Raiders. It was a great game that could have gone eiither way, but the Raiders came up with the victory. Horn had a great year in 2012.
The Poteet Pirates will play Friday night, Nov 30th vs Wylie East in the third round of the playoffs. The kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 in Rockwall. You can listen to all of the action on KEOM radio!

Friday-Nov 16 - Mesquite vs Sachse. 7:30 @ Ram Wildcat Stadium
Saturday- Nov 17 - Horn vs Garland. 12 noon @ Allen Eagle Stadium
West vs Poteet Series Renewed!
KEOM will broadcast the West Mesquite vs Poteet football match up Friday night, November 9. This series started back in 1990. Twenty two previous games have been played with the series record standing at 12 wins for West and 10 for Poteet. This should be a great ball game between two teams headed to the playoffs! West Mesquite won last years game 22-21.

Skeeters Stay Perfect at 7-0 - Three Teams in Top 10
MHS beat Horn last week 56-41 to stay undefeated onthe season. The Skeeters had 604 yards of offense in the win!
MHS is ranked as the #5 5A team in the area and they are ranked #12 in the state poll. Poteet and West Mesquite are both ranked in the Top Ten 4A poll as play starts this week (10/18).
Two MISD Teams Still Undefeated
The Mesquite High School Skeeters and the Poteet Pirates are both off to fast starts in the 2012 football season. Both teams are undefeated at 5 - 0 after five weeks of play! Poteet is ranked #5 in the 4A Area football poll while the Skeeters are ranked #4 in the 5A poll. The Skeeters have also received mention in the State poll and are currently ranked #13 in the State!
Skeeter QB Having a Big Year!
Alex Cooper, senior QB at MHS is having a big year for the maroon and white. After five weeks of play Alex has passed for over 1,600 yards and 13 TDs! He has only thrown one interception all year! Rashaard Huggins has caught 39 passes for MHS ranking him as one of the top receivers in the area.
