I took the KEOM broadcasting class in high school during my 2007-2008 senior year and interned the following summer. Looking back, I'm shocked by how special an opportunity we all had to work with such patient and incredible teachers. We practiced writing traffic and weather reports, cultivated a broadcast voice, and learned how to properly time out the music blocks. All of that perfectly prepared me for my career in television news. I have worked as an anchor, reporter, and producer in various news markets, and now I'm back home in Dallas-Fort Worth working as a morning show reporter for NBC 5. It all started with KEOM. I will forever be grateful to them for giving me the hands-on experience I needed to achieve my dreams.
