Set in 1995 Ohio, She Kills Monsters follows Agnes Evans, a young woman dealing with the loss of her parents and younger sister, Tilly, in a car crash.
To feel closer to Tilly, Agnes decides to play a Dungeons & Dragons game her sister wrote before she died. As Agnes plays, she jumps between the real world and a fantasy world filled with sword fights, '90s pop culture, and Tilly’s ghost—realizing along the way how little she knew about her little sister.
